YM Hajah Zuraini Haji Sharbawi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from King’s College, University of London, United Kingdom in 1993 and was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, London in 1994. She obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Islamic Law and Syariah Legal Practice from University Brunei Darussalam in 2004.

Hajah Zuraini started her legal career as a Counsel and a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General’s Chambers in September 1994. In 1998, she was assigned to the Criminal Justice Division where she stayed until 2011. In early 2011, she headed the Research and Law Review Division until her secondment to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for a period of eighteen (18) months from early 2016 until late 2017 where she was Acting Director at the Department of Social Services.

Hajah Zuraini is the current Solicitor General and was appointed to the post in August 2018. She is married and has six (6) children. She is a passionate bibliophile who channels her creativity into home renovation and interior design.
