YM Dyg Norismizan binti Haji Ismail is the Legislative Draftsman overseeing the Legislative Drafting Division, Attorney General’s Chambers, since her appointment on 24th September 2022. Prior to this, her appointment as the Principal Counsel heading the Legislative Drafting Division and was the Acting Legal Draftsman from 13th November 2021 until 8th November 2022.

She joined the Attorney General’s Chambers on 4th December 1996 where she started off as a Counsel attached in the Civil Division on graduating the professional qualification as Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1996 and degree in LLB (Hons) at the University of Central England in Birmingham in 1995.

In 1998, she chose to be attached to the Legislative Drafting Division after being assigned to deal with both Civil Division and Legislative Drafting Division matters. She was then promoted to Deputy Senior Counsel on 1st May 2004. As her passion in legislative drafting expanded, she did her in-service training and graduated in LLM in Advanced Legislative Studies at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, United Kingdom in 2012. Thereafter, she was promoted to Senior Counsel on 1st February 2014.
