REGISTRATION OF POWERS OF ATTORNEY
The Registry is responsible for registering an instrument purporting to create powers of attorney as well as its revocation.
In order for an instrument purporting to create a power of attorney to be valid to create a power of attorney within Brunei Darussalam, the instrument must be attested and be deposited with the office of the Registrar.
Where applicable, the statutory requirements prescribed under other written laws such as the Land Code (Chapter 40) are to be observed.
A Power of Attorney signed by a donor elsewhere other than Brunei Darussalam is required to be notarised at the country of origin.
A fee of BND50.00 applies for depositing an instrument or a copy of an instrument (true copy), and BND10.00 (office copy), with the office of the Registrar. Payment by cheque is encouraged.
The counter to receive payment will be open on the following days and time, and will be closed on Friday, Sunday and public holidays:
