YM Dyg Norazizah binti Haji Mohd Jaafar was appointed as Head of the Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO) on 1 March 2021.

She began her legal career at the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) in 1993 after obtaining her LLB (Hons) from the University of South Bank, United Kingdom. Since the formal establishment of AGC’s Intellectual Property Division in 1997, she has been actively involved in the development of IP policy and administration in Brunei.

In 2012, she was seconded to the Brunei Economic Development Board to facilitate the transfer of the national IP portfolio and the establishment of BruIPO. She later served in AGC’s International Affairs and Civil Divisions between 2013 and 2018.

In January 2019, Dyg Norazizah was appointed Director of the Policy Planning Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she also led the Treaties Division. She returned to AGC in June 2020 as Head of the International Affairs Division and concurrently oversaw BruIPO.

Dyg Norazizah played a key role in negotiating the Intellectual Property Chapter of the Trans-Pacific Partnership from 2010 to 2015. She has been serving on several IP-related committees at higher education institutions in Brunei.
